Jockey with 50 per cent strike-rate goes to Carlisle for one ride on Monday 🔥

It has been a good season for Ryan Mania so far and he’s been doing particularly well for Sandy Thomson. The thirty-three-year-old has ridden 25 winners during the current campaign, at a strike-rate of 22 per cent. This is impressive and his record of two winners from four rides at Carlisle gives him a 50 per cent strike-rate at the course. Mania travels to the Cumbrian track for just one ride on Monday which has to go under consideration. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.45 Carlisle

Leading Force (11-2, William Hill) has finished second in his last two starts, both in novice and maiden company. It was a particularly solid effort at Musselburgh two starts ago when finishing second by just shy of four lengths. The winner of that race has been well backed for the Scottish Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Musselburgh on Sunday which suggests it was a good effort in defeat.

Looked a little to keen when weakening on the run-in to finish second by eight lengths at Newcastle last time out. Despite that, the son of Leading Light was nine lengths clear of the third who improved significantly next time out. All in all, it was a fair effort and gives him something to build from if settling better this time.

Sandy Thomson’s charge makes his handicap debut here, off an opening mark of 107. Handicaps could be the making of him and he should progress nicely in this sphere. This opening mark seems fairly reasonable and there’s plenty of room for improvement. Certainly not one to write off, it would be no surprise if Mania facilitates a big run from the horse here.
