It has been raining all week in Ireland at the Curragh Racecourse and we are guaranteed pretty soft conditions. We take a look at three horses who should relish these conditions on Sunday and these three horses will love the forecast ground. This looks like a great opportunity for the Aidan O’Brien trained Chantilly to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking. The well bred son of Galileo finished second on his last two starts, both on heavy ground. Already proven in the mud, further improvement is expected given the powerful stable he is in, and his experience should also stand to him. He looks worthy of a bet.
One horse sticks out like a sore thumb here with heavy ground forecast and that is Real Force of the Bunyan yard. The son of Lethal Force has two ways of running but his form figures on heavy reads 211 and he is taken to bounce back on his favoured ground. He was impressive when winning easily on heavy at Cork in April and doesn’t have many rivals to beat here.
All Lies Ahead was out of her depth in Listed grad when last seen, but she should feel much more at home back in handicap company and as a former winner on heavy ground, she will have her conditions. She has been fancied for many a big handicap in the last 12 months or so, and a mark of 85 is rather lenient if she can put her best foot forward with Billy Lee in the saddle.
