Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV on Saturday and they form a treble.
We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot a while back and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Chasing Fire loves this time of the year and has a great record fresh, landing a 3m handicap at Perth in September before a fine second behind a smart type over 3m at Aintree when last seen. The Olly Murphy team is in terrific form and he had the best strike-rate at the track last season of any trainer. Big chance.
Go Dante is another Olly Murphy runner in with a good chance. A dual winner over course and distance, both valuable pots, he’s now just 1lb higher than his first Imperial Cup win here and just needed the blowout over a stamina-sapping trip for him at Bangor when last seen.
Il Etait Temps has been primed for this race by Willie Mullins, who is seeking only his second win in the race. The multiple Grade 1-winning chaser won a Grade 1 here last season and looked as good as ever on his return at Clonmel. It may take a top performance to beat him.
