Navan-based trainer Cian Collins will send one horse on the 380-mile round trip to Ayr Racecourse on Tuesday from his base in Ireland, and it will be his fourth runner at the track in the last five seasons. Let’s take a look at the horse in more detail below, but you can also find all of our free horse racing tips on the website too.
Sean Bowen is an eyecatching booking aboard Cian Collins’ sole runner on Ayr’s card, Gather Yourself, who will take his chance in what looks like a fairly competitive renewal of the extended 3m handicap hurdle for horses rated 0-105.
The 6yo son of Affinsea is now 0-12 under rules, but he produced one of his best displays yet last time out at Navan when finishing an eyecatching third from 7lb out of the handicap over 3m1f on gruelling ground last month.
He travelled really well throughout the contest and went on to lead two from home, but in between the last two hurdles he struggled to pick up and was reeled in by two rivals, finishing third for a finish, which was a very good effort at the weights.
The forecast heavy ground at Ayr will be right up his street and he’s definitely of major interest running off his correct rating in what seems to be a weaker handicap, and one thing is for sure, they won’t be travelling across there just to make up the numbers.
Sean Bowen has a 26 per cent strike-rate at Ayr in the last five seasons and has only three rides on the card so everything is set for a big effort.
