Irish trainer sends one runner on 905-mile round trip to Lingfield on Thursday

Westmeath-based trainer Ciaran Murphy is well able to train a good winner at a decent level, and it has to be hugely interesting that the handler will send one horse on the 905-mile round trip to Lingfield Racecourse onThursday from his base in Ireland. Let’s take a look at the horse in more detail below, but you can also find all of our free horse racing tips on the website too.

2.05 Lingfield

Dual-purpose trainer Ciaran Murphy has got his Flat year off to a great start with two winners from six runners in 2025, but the stable has been rather cold over jumps with just four winners from 95 runners this season to date.

Nonetheless, the fact he is willing to send a runner across the Irish Sea is always a real sign of intent and the horse in question is Miss Dishy, who will take her chance in the opening 2m mares’ novices’ hurdle. She will be ridden by 3lb claimer Eoin Walsh and this is also his sole ride on the card.

Miss Dishy needs to bounce back from a poor effort in a Grade 3 at Down Royal last time out when finishing last of the eight runners over the 2m1f trip. She was always in rear and never got involved, but it was a tough race for her and this will be a much easier assignment for her.

A winner of a Kilbeggan bumper last August, she impressed when winning a 2m Limerick maiden hurdle in October and a repeat of that would bring her right into a moderate affair like this. Good luck if you have a bet.
