Irish trainer sends one runner on 640-mile round trip to Southwell on Wednesday

Curragh-based trainer Katy Brown will send one horse on the 640-mile round trip to Southwell Racecourse on Wednesday from her base in Ireland, and it will be her second ever runner at the track. Let’s take a look at the horse in more detail below, but you can also find all of our free horse racing tips on the website too.

2.40 Southwell

Katy Brown has a modest enough strike-rate on the all-weather in Britain so that has to be taken into account for sure, but there’s no doubting the fact Reinforce will be trying very hard in division two of the 6f handicap at Southwell on Wednesday.

Leading all-weather rider Rossa Ryan has been booked for the ride which is a real sign of intent, and recent form figures would suggest this horse should open at a very attractive price once the markets are formed.

Reinforce won a pair of 5f handicaps back-to-back on turf last summer on quick ground but has a record of 0-11 on the all-weather which has to be noted as a negative. The five-year-old son of Tasleet ran over 5f at Newcastle last week but was tapped for toe as soon as the gates opened and he was never involved.

Hopes rest on the step up to 6f being a help but there isn’t much in the form book to suggest he will be better over this trip either. He’s running from a decent mark at least and is dropping from 0-82 class down into 0-72 company, so he will at least find this sort of company easier. Good luck if you have a bet but he is risky.
