Irish trainer sends one horse on 752-mile round trip to Beverley on Saturday

Based in Gilford in County Down in Northern Ireland, trainer Natalia Lupini has done really well since taking out her license. In 2022, she had 14 winners from 56 runners on the Flat (25%) and in 2023 she sent out 16 winners from 103 runners (16%).

Lupini has started 2023 slow enough with just three winners on the boards from her first 39 runners, but two of those winners came at the end of May so she’s starting to hit form at the right time.

The yard will send one horse on the 752-mile round trip to Beverley Racecourse on Saturday so let’s take a look at it below in more detail. You can find all of our free horse racing tips for the weekend on the website.

2.05 Beverley

Running in the Hilary Needler Trophy EBF Fillies’ Conditions Stakes over 5f with Luke Morris booked for the ride, Powerful Lady is the horse in question. The Hello Youmzain filly wasn’t without support on her debut over the minimum trip at Cork last month, where she finished a good fourth, beaten less than half a length for a finish in what was a thrilling contest.

The form of the race has received a nice boost with the second and third both coming out to win since. Powerful Lady can be expected to improve significantly from her debut effort, and she has a nice draw in stall five so she should be able to get a good early position up with the pace.

Morris is a strong jockey in a finish too so if it’s another tight finish, his strength will come in very useful. Best of luck if you have a play.
