The Queen Mother Champion Chase is the highlight of the second day at Cheltenham Festival. This year 11 runners compete over 2 miles and 12 fences for the crown and the stats show that it’s a race for the most experienced of horses.
With prize money standing at a whopping £350,000, all eyes will be on Un De Sceaux, who will look to graduate from his impressive Arkle Chase win, with competition from the rejuvenated Sprinter Sacre among others. The stats show that previous winners of the Arkle stand a good chance, so consider that.
It’s notable too that Barry Geraghty has won 3 of the last 6 Champion Chases and of the previous 20 winners, 8 have been French, 9 Irish and just 3 British horses.
