In form trainers to follow after week one of UK racing

At myracing, we know the must-have information ahead of this week’s racing schedule. Our expert picks out the hottest trainers that are worth following since the resumption of racing last Monday.

Archie Watson

7 winners from 18 runners (39%)

The hottest stable in the UK right now is Archie Watson’s, who has an incredible strike-rate for the first seven days back racing. It will be worth keeping an eye on his juveniles at the moment as he teamed up with Hollie Doyle at Lingfield on Friday to win with a pair of two-year-old’s.

John Gosden

15 winners from 49 runners (31%)

It has been a whirlwind start too for Gosden. His first winner back was the exciting Frankly Darling, a daughter of Frankel who created a superb impression at Newcastle. Nazeef tasted Listed success from a terrible draw at Kempton so is another to watch out for whilst Group 2 winner Terebellum is another for the notebook.

Andrew Balding

8 winners from 33 runners (24%)

What a week it has been for Kingsclere who notched up their first Guineas win in the hands of Oisín Murphy who tasted classic success for the first time with Kameko. The yard is red-hot at present and are operating at a massive 55% place strike-rate.

Mark Johnston

14 winners from 66 runners (21%)

If you throw enough darts, something is bound to stick, right? Not the case. Mark Johnston has a vast amount of runners every week but he is a class act and knows how to get them fresh at the right time. West End Charmer could be his biggest improver in the yard and is worth putting into your notebook after his emphatic Newmarket success.

Charlie Appleby

6 winners from 28 runners (21%)

It was a disappointing week for Charlie and Godolphin if you take the Guineas run of Pinatubo into account. However, that aside it has been a very productive week for them with Ghaiyyath bolting up in the Coronation Cup. Creative Force is a juvenile to track this year too, he looks like a cracking prospect.
