Huge gamble at York as runner is backed from 14/1 into 2/1 favourite in places

Kevin Ryan

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place at York Racecourse today. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in good form the past month. Let’s take a closer look at the big gamble in more detail below.

4.20 York

Trained by Kevin Ryan, Sisyphean has been backed as if defeat is out of the question in the mile handicap at York today. The son of Dubawi opened up at 14/1 with bet365 last night but is now as short as 2/1 in places. The best price you will find anywhere is 5/2 and there really has been sustained support for this horse all morning.

Sisyphean was a close fifth in a very strong maiden here over 7f last August behind Aidan O’Brien’s Battle Cry, a horse that won a Group 3 at Leopardstown when last seen in April. Six other winners have come out of the race, including this boy who won a mile Newcastle novice in May.

He disappointed in a Newmarket handicap over this trip on handicap debut in April, but he has had wind surgery since last seen and if the market vibes are correct that seems to have improved him. This is a slight drop in grade from when he was last seen and although his mark remains unchanged, he has a big chance.

It could be a big weekend for owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum who has some strong chances across Britain today and on Saturday. Best of luck if you have a bet.
