Horses for courses: Three track specialists on Day 5 of Glorious Goodwood

Goodwood Racecourse

Course form is always an important factor to consider when trying to find winners and especially so at Goodwood. It’s a sharp track which doesn’t suit every horse, so proven course winners have an advantage. With that in mind, we’ve picked out three runners on Day 5 of Glorious Goodwood which fit that profile. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.25 Goodwood

Fairbanks has been progressive this year and he boasts a 100 per cent record here at Goodwood. That success came on his sole start at the track and it was an impressive performance off a mark of 80 over 1m4f. It was a career best effort at Newmarket when last seen and it’s hard to rule out further progress, despite a 6lb rise in the weights.

3.35 Goodwood

Dream Composer is no stranger to Goodwood and has two victories and five placed efforts to his name in nine starts at the track. James Evans’ six-year-old won the Dash at Epsom earlier on this season and is currently on just a 4lb higher mark. He’s generally better over 5f but the easy track here will give him every chance.

4.10 Goodwood

Mission To Moon is unbeaten in two starts over course and distance and that includes victory in a valuable nursery at this meeting last year. A winner here on seasonal debut, he followed that up with a good second at Epsom and a fine fourth in a Royal Ascot handicap. If he can produce a similar effort off a 1lb higher mark here, success could be on the cards once again.
