Horses for courses: three Catterick specialists form tasty 50-1 treble on Tuesday 🏇

Catterick isn’t always the most straightforward of tracks; the tight nature of it often produces a pace bias. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three proven course winners running on Tuesday who should have an advantage over some of their rivals. When combined, these runners form a tasty 50-1 treble. 2.45 Catterick

Kavanaghs Cross (10-3, William Hill) returned to winning ways over course and distance last time out. That victory gives him a 50 per cent record here, having finished well-beaten on his only other start here back in December. There were excuses for that effort as it’s likely he needed the run badly on his first start after a break. Fences weren’t for him at Doncaster two starts ago and the win last time signified a return to form. Drops into a low grade here and can take full advantage, despite the 4lb rise.

4.15 Catterick

Betty Baloo (13-8, William Hill) is unbeaten in two starts at Catterick. She won cosily over course and distance last time out and the second has since boosted the form by winning easily. Having had just three starts over fences so far, she has to be unexposed and there should be plenty more to come from her. Only up 2lb for that latest win and can take advantage of that generosity from the handicapper.

4.45 Catterick

Just Jess (7-2, William Hill) has a 100 per cent record here, winning her sole start two runs ago. It’s also worth noting that the win in question came over course and distance. This is perhaps not the deepest of races so if she can put in a similar effort here, can win again despite the 4lb higher mark. Her latest effort was a little disappointing but her course record suggests she can bounce back.
