Horses for courses: One track specialist for every meeting on Thursday

It’s never a bad idea to consider a horse’s previous form at a track and whilst there are never any guarantees, it can often provide some useful hints. We have you covered on that front, here we take a look at four horses running on Thursday with proven records at their respective tracks.

These include one with an unbeaten record at Warwick and a six-time Newcastle winner. Why not check out our tips page, where you can find free horse racing content daily and we also provide greyhound tips.

1.55 Warwick

Telepathique represents the Lucy Wadham yard and it could prove dangerous to overlook her. She remains unbeaten in two starts at Warwick, most notably here over two miles last time out. Wadham’s mare has taken well to fences and the form of her latest success looks pretty solid. A rating of 122 suggests she has a bit to find but this six-year-old is going the right way.

2.52 Newcastle

Blackcurrent certainly knows his way around Newcastle, with a whopping 28 previous runs to his name. Producing six wins and four seconds, 67 per cent of his career successes have come here and he returned to form with a close up second over 5f last month. Alan Brown’s eight-year-old is currently rated 1lb higher than his last win and should be in the mix on that evidence.

3.50 Taunton

Kendelu‘s 1038-day absence is a bit of a concern but his course record certainly isn’t. Making the frame in all of his five starts at Taunton, he’s a two-time course winner who is down to a nice mark now. Nigel Hawke’s gelding won over this trip off a 2lb lower mark in December 2021 and is well set to run his race once again, if fit enough for this excursion.

7.30 Chelmsford

Sullivan Bay has been in good form across both codes since the autumn and has won two of his three starts at Chelmsford. The most recent of those was a game success over two miles in October and he was far from disgraced when third off this mark at Southwell after. There’s no reason to believe he won’t put in a similar performance this time around and more success could be on the agenda.
