Hong Kong racing tips: Adrian Wall fancies three on Happy Valley’s Wednesday card

Hong Kong racing returns to Happy Valley on Wednesday and there are eight races on the card, with the first race to get under starters orders at 12:15pm UK time.

Our resident expert Adrian Wall is very familiar with the place and has three tips for you to get your teeth into….

12.45 – Le Terroir

With an RPR of 105, if Le Terroir runs anywhere near to that level in this contest he should take the world of beating. He is a dual course and distance winner, both of those wins coming at start of last season. His last victory was off a mark of 72 so he looks extremely well treated on his stable debut for the Lui yard off 63. He was only two lengths behind the re-opposing The Runner over course and distance last time and has a better draw this time round.

13.45 – Baby Storm

This is a typically competitive handicap we have on our hands but coming out of gate ten, Baby Storm should take some beating in this. He tried to make all when finishing third over 1m1f here at end of last season, beaten just over a length. The slight drop back in distance will only be a help to him here and he might get to the line before they catch up with him this time. He has also been dropped a pound by the assessor and all things point to another huge run.

14:45 – Hercules

He may have a measly record of 0-15 in Hong Kong but he was a huge eye-catcher when third over course and distance last time and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his head in front. Arguably the best jockey in Asia, Zac Purton, takes the ride for the Yip yard and although he arguably would have preferred a lower draw, there is no better jockey that can get a horse to settle into a nice early position. If he gets his fractions right, he should take all the beating.
