‘His unblemished record bodes well’ – 265/1 Saturday ITV horses for courses treble

National Hunt racing fans will be experiencing the post-Cheltenham blues this weekend but we still have some entertaining action to look forward to. There will be seven races from Uttoxeter and Kempton live on ITV and you won’t want to miss the Midlands Grand National. We’ve picked out three horses with proven course records and combined them into a juicy treble and all three are unbeaten at their respective tracks. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.25 Uttoxeter

John Barbour (8/1, bet365) has been progressive this term and he has won twice at Uttoxeter, on top of his bumper success here last season. His unblemished record certainly bodes well and having finished second by a narrow margin in a good race at Ascot last time, he might still be ahead of the handicapper. Fergal O’Brien’s gelding is going up to just shy of three miles for the first time.

2.40 Kempton

Turndlightsdownlow (15/2, bet365) represents the Martin Keighley yard and the progressive six-year-old won two races over course and distance in good style in the autumn. He has performed with credit over longer trips in his last couple of starts but this track and trip clearly suits. A 30lb rise in the handicap isn’t insignificant but he’s worth keeping on side for the time being.

3.18 Kempton

Califet En Vol (5/2, bet365) was an impressive winner of a novice hurdle here last season and he returned to winning ways with a comfortable course and distance victory over fences last time out. Nicky Henderson had several winners at the Cheltenham Festival and is clearly in good form. There should be more to come before the handicapper catches up.
