‘He’s the one I would ride’ – Gordon Elliott bullish about this Grand National runner 🏇

Gordon Elliott is set to have six runners lining up in the Randox Grand National as things stand, but the trainer didn’t hold back the punches when telling David Jennings of the Racing Post which of the six should run the best race. Before we move on to the horse in question, make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the day on the website!

Aintree Grand National

The horse might come as no surprise but the one Elliott thinks has a big chance in the Grand National is dual Cross Country Chase winner Delta Work. Beaten 22 lengths into third by Noble Yeats in the race last year, Elliott replied when asked which one he would ride if he was still a jockey:

“Delta Work, but the last time I rode around the course, I broke my arm! I hadn’t much luck around there, but I was only an ordinary amateur. I enjoy training horses a lot more than I did riding them.”

Elaborating on Delta Work’s chance, he said: “He was third in the race last year, he ran well, but he got caught a bit far out of his ground early on and he was a bit careful in the early stages too. He still ran a very good race.

“He’s in great form since Cheltenham and is working great. I actually couldn’t be happier with him and he’d be the one I would ride, for sure.”

Delta Work is a general 8-1 chance with the bookies and he looks sure to give his running once again this year. Best of luck if you back him and you can do so below.
