‘He’s king of the July course’ – William Buick Newmarket Lucky 15 on Thursday 👑

Champion jockey William Buick was the king of the July course at Newmarket last summer. He came away with 20 winners which was 12 more than the next jockey on the list. One from three so far this year, he has a strong book of rides at the track on Thursday and we’ve combined them into a Lucky 15 for you to consider. 3.10 Newmarket (July)

Crow’s Nest (3-1, bet365) has had just three starts so far, winning his last two in novice company. The first of those wins came in good style at Hamilton over 6f which indicates that the return to this trip is a big positive. Making his handicap debut here, this opening mark of 82 looks reasonable and there should be plenty of improvement to come.

3.45 Newmarket (July)

Spring Dawn (5-4, bet365) has filled the runner-up spot on both of her starts so far and it’s about time she gets her head in front and sheds her maiden tag. Charlie Appleby has two winners from his three runners on the July course so far this year and should add another to his tally. She’s got an excellent chance and this could be the day.

4.55 Newmarket (July)

Wild Side (5-2, William Hill) has gone from strength to strength this year and has run up a sequence of three consecutive wins. The handicapper is likely to catch up with her soon but she should have at least one more victory in her before that happens. Still very lightly raced, George Boughey’s filly can maintain her winning streak here.

5.30 Newmarket (July)

Byron Hill (4-1, bet365) has a decent record on fast ground. All three of his career wins have come on good or good to firm. That means he should appreciate the ground conditions here. It’s also worth noting that his last win came off a 1lb higher mark at Ffos Las in September and he looks well-handicapped on that evidence.
