‘He’s got huge ability’ – Patrick Mullins can’t wait to see 7-1 Cheltenham prospect 🗣️

The Willie Mullins yard has an abundance of quality prospects every season. This means it would require something special to get his son and amateur jockey Patrick Mullins excited. There are few people in the game with as much insight into the yard as him and that makes him one to listen to. One bumper horse from last season in particular is exciting Patrick and it’s set to embark on a campaign over hurdles. ‘He really hits overdrive’

It’s likely that there are countless prospects housed at Closutton but there is one horse in particular which Patrick Mullins is looking forward to. The horse in question, Ballyburn, is currently the 7-1 favourite for the Ballymore at Cheltenham. If this horse is as good as Patrick Mullins thinks he is, that price won’t last for long. He said: “Ballyburn is a horse I can’t wait to see, again probably over slightly further. At home he just does enough, but I think in a race, when it comes down to finishing, if you give him a flick or two he really hits overdrive. He’s got huge ability.”

‘He’s better than his bare form’

Mullins also singled out Ile Atlantique as horse to expect more from in the coming season. This could perhaps be something of a dark horse for the yard. He added: “I think Ile Atlantique is a horse that is much better than his bare form. I think he wants softer ground and a trip.” One thing is for sure, there’s no reason to suggest that Willie Mullins’ dominance will subside anytime soon and it should be an exciting campaign.
