Ryan Moore could be in for an excellent day at Newbury on Friday. It’s a hugely competitive card but Moore seems to have a fantastic book of rides which stand out. The master jockey has six rides at the Berkshire track and there’s a good chance he’ll leave with more than one winner. We’ve picked out his three most likely winners and combined them into a 13-1 accumulator. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Lajooje (5-4, bet365) made a good impression when finishing second on debut. The colt was only narrowly denied at Ffos Las despite a slow start and showing signs of greenness. A lot will have been learnt from that experience and a much more professional performance is expected here. He’s entitled to come on from that run physically as well as mentally and it helps that trainer Owen Burrows is operating at 50 per cent in the last fortnight.
The Parent (11-4, William Hill) is a progressive looking juvenile and won at the third time of asking when last seen. That victory came at Goodwood over a mile and it was a game performance, making all and holding off all challengers. Clear improvement is evident with each start and if that pattern continues, this opening mark of 84 will be no issue. Richard Hannon has won three of the last five renewals of this race and will be looking to continue this hot streak.
Highbank (4-6, William Hill) was hugely impressive on debut at Newmarket when winning by almost four lengths over 7f. His stablemate finished second that day and has since gone on to win twice. The Parent was third that day and as previously mentioned, won next time. This colt wouldn’t be out of place in Group company so a comfortable victory is expected in this Conditions event.
