Champion jockey Harry Cobden has already had plenty of winners here at Wincanton this season and there’s a good chance he’ll be adding to that tally on Thursday. With five winners from just nine rides so far this term, he’s operating at a more than healthy strike-rate of 56 per cent.
We’ll take a look at the chances of all six of his Thursday rides and combine four of them into a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing but please remember to gamble responsibly and keep it fun!
Cave Article has shown little in four starts under rules thus far but he remains thoroughly unexposed in handicaps. Christian Williams’ five-year-old makes his first start over fences here and progress is expected on just his second run in handicaps.
Tinklers Hill was highly regarded by his trainer last season but only managed to make it to the track once. He was a tired third at Taunton last November and whilst victory isn’t out of the question, he may need the run after a 371-day absence.
Somethingtosomeone kept on well to claim second in an Irish point at Ballysteen in April and makes her rules debut for Ben Clarke here. Likely to want further in time, this is a good starting point and she should give a good account of herself.
Irish Hill returned to winning ways with a game success at Plumpton recently and 3lb higher mark shouldn’t be insurmountable. The yard had a treble at Exeter on Monday and this horse can continue the good form.
Torneo was an impressive winner of a juvenile hurdle at Wetherby in January and connections are wasting no time in sending him over fences. His chase mark is 2lb lower than his hurdles one and he’s entitled to progress in handicaps.
Dirty Den was a fair bumper horse for Nigel Twiston-Davies but he failed to score over hurdles for Syd Hosie last term. An opening mark of 98 is hard to argue with however and handicaps could be the making of him. The son of Dragon Dancer makes his debut for Anthony Charlton here.
