Racing fans are being treated to a feast of action on New Years’ Day, as there are nine meetings across Britain and Ireland. The ITV cameras are back out and they will be televising seven live races across Cheltenham, Musselburgh and Windsor. It’s always worth considering course form when trying to pick out winners and we have you covered on that front. Here are three horses with proven records at their respective courses, which we have combined into a tasty-looking treble. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Chanonry Point (15/2, bet365) has won both starts at Musselburgh so far and her unbeaten record is on the line here. Trained by Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore, she won a bumper here easily last term and it was a similar story over hurdles on her most recent start. This mare remains thoroughly unexposed over hurdles and there should be loads more to come on handicap debut.
The Kalooki Kid (9/4, bet365) has two wins and third to his name in just three starts at Musselburgh and the most recent of those successes came in a decent race here in February. He was far from disgraced, despite finishing last, in a Listed contest at Carlisle on seasonal debut and going back into handicaps can facilitate a return to winning ways.
Guard Duty (5/1, bet365) won a course and distance novice handicap by four lengths last season and that was his only start at Windsor to date. There was lots to like about his second at Newbury last time out, as the winner is a progressive handicapper, and he’s entitled to step forward for the run.
