1.20 Goodwood

Last year’s winner of the Chesterfield Cup is back to retain his crown off the same mark! Take Heart (11/1, bet365) was well-backed for the race, and he held off Enfjaar with a gritty performance. It looks like this race has been the plan ever since that win, and now that he’s back on a mark of 95, he bids to win at Glorious Goodwood once again.

1.55 Goodwood

Despite winning once in three stars, it’s hard to ignore the form in front of Andab (8/1, bet365). After winning on debut, he was a length-and-a-half behind Albert Einstein.

He then ran a cracker at Royal Ascot, finishing fourth in the Coventry at Royal Ascot behind the impressive Gstaad on ground that was surely too quick. He’ll love the step up to 7 furlongs and seeks to give Joseph O’Brien his first winner at Goodwood.

2.30 Goodwood

Seven furlong specialists tend to win the Lennox and Jonquil (10/3, bet365) is an exciting three-year-old, who looks well suited by the trip. He won the Group 3 Greenham Stakes on reappearance this season and was then denied by a short-head by Henri Matisse in the French 2,000 Guineas.

The Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot didn’t go to plan; the ground was too quick and 6f just isn’t his trip. Seven furlongs and good ground at Goodwood should be perfect and Oisin Murphy rides.

3.45 Goodwood

Shagraan (15/2, bet365) is a course and distance winner at Goodwood and has handled being stepped up in grade this season very well. Placing in both Listed and Group 3 competitions, he returns to handicap company with Tom Marquand in the saddle. His record with Marquand doing the steering is good and it’s hard to see him out of the frame here, at a track he clearly enjoys.
