‘He won the race last year’ – runner backed from 14/1 into 4/1 at Haydock

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place at Haydock Racecourse today. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in good form the past month. Let’s take a closer look at the big gamble in more detail below.

2.45 Haydock

Rainbow Fire was the winner of this corresponding race 12 months ago, and it looks like the horse has been set up for a tilt at the race again. Backed from a high of 14/1 all the way into 10/3 in places, the best price out there at present is 4/1 and he is now the market leader in a very competitive handicap.

This horse beat Gweedore off a mark of 95 last year, and he did it comfortably. Now back down to a mark of 95, he is obviously well treated and Neil Callan, who was aboard when successful last year, is booked for the ride again interestingly. Callan is a hugely experienced rider and you’d want nobody else on your horse when the money is down.

The main concern for backers has to be the ground. At present, the ground is officially described as soft, heavy in places. Given all three of Rainbow Fire’s wins have come on good to firm or good ground, today’s ground would have to be a small concern. Nonetheless, the weight of money would suggest connections feel the ground is not going to be an issue.

Best of luck if you decide to back the horse. This is not a tip, we are merely highlighting the gamble.
