Catterick is a small and tight track which often makes it difficult for horses to come from behind to win. With this in mind, handiness is often essential. We’ve picked out four horses running there on Tuesday whose best form has come when racing up with the pace. These four horses combine into a juicy Lucky 15 for you to consider. Galileo Glass (7-2, bet365) was right up with the pace when winning at Wolverhampton last time out. He was also just caught when making plenty of the running at Brighton last month. The handicapper has raised him 4lb for that victory last time and his highest winning mark is significantly higher. David Evans’ charge should be suited by this track and a big run could be on the cards.
This Ones For Fred (5-1, bet365) was very prominent when winning over course and distance on his penultimate start. Another one for David Evans and Ben Curtis, that aforementioned victory came off just a 1lb lower mark. This horse showed plenty of speed when winning at Lingfield in July and he’ll have every chance if showing that once again here.
Vadamiah (11-4, bet365) was a course and distance winner at the back end of last season, off a 2lb lower mark. Paul Midgley’s filly has been running in much better races in her last couple of starts so the significant drop in grade should be to her liking. She’s a three-time course winner and coming back to Catterick can inspire a return to form.
Vortigan (7-2, bet365) has been consistent recently, finishing third in his last three starts. He has made the running all three times and sharp track here could be to his liking. This horse is a keen goer and tends to do too much early on and he may be able to get away with it here at Catterick.
