A couple of abandoned National Hunt meetings in Britain on Wednesday means we’ve only got a couple of all-weather fixtures on the schedule. One of those is hosted by Dundalk and it’s set to be a competitive card. With that in mind, we’ve selected one horse to follow in every race to give you a head start. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Spring Is Here is the standout candidate here, as the Joseph O’Brien-trained filly has only had three starts so far, two of which have come in Listed company. The form of her debut effort is particularly strong and she should be up to winning a race of this stature.
Plushy remains lightly raced, especially in handicaps, and she produced a couple of good performances to finish second and third in turf maidens over the summer. Second in a course and distance handicap last time out, she can build on that and victory could be on the cards.
Macadam’s Rock won over course and distance off this very mark back in April and he was entitled to need the run when finishing down the field last time out. A much improved performance is anticipated this time around and he should be very competitive.
Little Empire has been in good form of late and deserves to get his head in front. Anthony McCann’s six-year-old has been narrowly denied in each of his last two starts and it would be no surprise to see him go one better here.
Arrietty gets the nod by process of elimination here, as it’s hard to make a case for any of the other previously raced runners. Joseph O’Brien’s filly finished second in a Wolverhampton novice back in October and may well appreciate the step up in trip on that evidence.
Tyraxes was half-a-length away from getting off the mark in a 1m4f maiden here earlier this month and that form makes him the one to beat. He probably won’t need to improve much on that form and provided the shorter trip is fine, the four-year-old can get off the mark.
Cinammon Coco was narrowly denied when third over further here last time out handicaps could be the answer on that evidence. He won a maiden over 1m4f back in November and is lightly raced enough to suggest that there’s probably more to come.
