Gordon Elliott’s Cross Country dominance can continue with this horse on Wednesday
Liam Bramall

Horse racing is in Liam's blood and his biggest passion is jumps racing. He can often be found at his favourite tracks; Chepstow and Cheltenham in the Autumn when the National Hunt action kicks off. In his own words: "I'm often referred to as a walking form book, a trait which comes in handy from time to time. My proudest tipping success to date was landing a whopping 682-1 accumulator at Epsom."
Gordon Elliott rarely leaves the Cheltenham Festival without multiple winners and one race in which he often mops up is the Cross Country. Winning five of the last seven renewals, he is undoubtedly the man to follow. We’re pretty confident that he one of his team is going to do the business on Wednesday and we’re about to tell you why. MyRacing will provide free tips for every race at the Cheltenham Festival and our Day 2 selections are available now!
Galvin was a Grade 1 performer in his prime and appears to be down to a very attractive mark nowadays. He chased home stablemate Delta Work off a mark of 166 back in 2023 and now finds himself on 12lb lower one.
The Ronnie Bartlett-owned gelding looked well above average when sauntering to victory in the National Hunt Chase here in his novice days and as a result of that, we know his stamina is confirmed. Jack Kennedy was on board that day and he has picked him again today, ahead of five stablemates.
It’s probably quite telling that we haven’t seen him since he was beaten a neck over an inadequate trip in the Grand National Hurdle Stakes at Far Hills in October. You would imagine connections are delighted with his current rating and didn’t want to risk it by running him elsewhere.
His last run in Europe came in the Grand National and he ran a fine race to finish fourth behind I Am Maximus. Staying on well up the run-in, he was probably given a little too much to do. There’s plenty in his favour here and it’ll be a surprise if he’s not bang in the mix turning for home.
