It was a thrilling day of action at Leopardstown on Saturday with two Group 1s and a couple of Group 2 affairs. Day two of Ireland’s Champions weekend takes place on Sunday and there are no fewer than four Group 1s to look forward to at the Curragh. It was a good day for Aidan O’Brien on Saturday, having had four winners, and one of his runners on Sunday has been very well backed so far this morning. His son Joseph takes on Kyprios in the Irish St. Leger and his runner has been backed into 11-1 from 22-1. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Unless (6-1, William Hill) has a very solid and consistent profile and has run her race more often than not so far this season. Aidan O’Brien’s filly was narrowly denied in Group 3 company last time out and should fair well against her own sex here. She was available at 12-1 on Saturday evening but sustained market support has seen her odds slashed into just 6-1. This is in no doubt related to her trainer’s fine day at Leopardstown on Saturday and you’d be mad to rule her out.
Dawn Rising (10-1, Paddy Power) was available at a whopping 22-1 on Saturday evening but his odds have been slashed into just 10-1. We’re used to seeing market confidence behind JP McManus horses but that’s far more frequent over the Jumps. This horse is improving in this sphere and wasn’t beaten far when second in trial for this race last time out. He’s a proven stayer so the more of a stamina test this race becomes, the more likely he is to run a big race.
