Keeping a close eye on the markets is always a good idea. Although there are no guarantees in this game, the strength or lack of strength in the market can give you a good grasp of the confidence behind a horse. We like to keep you informed if there are any major moves in the works.
There’s one runner at Redcar on Saturday which has been the subject of a major market move. The horse in question was available at a massive 40-1 the previous evening and has been slashed into just 12-1. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Miners Gamble is the subject of this strong market move and it has to be said that he’s appropriately named. Trained by Brian Ellison, he made his debut over this trip at Thirsk in June and was beaten by almost 15 lengths back in eighth. The second and third that day have both won since but the winner has let the form down a few times. It’s fair to say the market indicated that he wasn’t expected to show much and he went off at 66-1. Now that the money is coming for him, we might see more this time around.
Brian Ellison’s recent form would have to be a slight concern, as he hasn’t had a winner in the last fortnight despite having 17 runners. It is usually noteworthy when one of his runners is well supported in the market however. There’s plenty of stamina in his pedigree which suggests he may want further in time but he’s entitled to improve for his previous run and there could be more to come.
