Gamble alert: Horse having second career start backed from 25/1 into 11/2 at Bath

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place at Bath Racecourse today. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in good form the past month. Let’s take a closer look at the big gamble in more detail below.

3.02 Bath

You don’t often see a major plunge during midweek racing but in the 5½f maiden (3.02) at Bath, there has been serious support in the market for James Horton’s Beltadaay, who has been backed from 25/1 all the way into 11/2 overnight. The Adaay colt made his debut at Newmarket over 6f last month but probably had his chance thrown away before he ever entered the stalls as he got really worked up in the paddock before the race.

Unsettled going into the stalls, he was slowly away and never got into the contest behind impressive winner Invictus Gold, beaten a total of 19 lengths. It’s fair to say a line needs to be drawn through that run to say the least. It will take a brave soul to back Beltadaay today after those shenanigans, but there’s clearly people out there who are expecting a totally different horse to be on show today.

This horse is bred to be speedy and interestingly he has an entry for the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes at Newmarket next month. He has a tricky draw in stall one however, and will need to be away very sharply if he’s to win this competitive maiden so the jury is still out.
