Galway Festival 2023: Adrian Wall with a tip for every race at Ballybrit on Saturday

Galway Festival

It has been another fantastic week at Ballybrit and although the standard or quality so to speak of the racing on Saturday doesn’t live up to the days earlier in the week, it still promises to be a highly competitive day of action at Galway. Away from the Irish action, make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for all of the action on ITV Racing. Adrian Wall has a tip for every race at Galway and you can find them below.

1.55 Galway

Emmet Mullins won this race with Merlin Giant last year, a couple of days after that said horse didn’t win on the Flat a couple of days prior. This Songisforyou has the exact same profile after a third on the level here during the week. Big player.

2.30 Galway

The Listed handicap hurdle is a competitive affair and it can go the way of the Denis Hogan runner, Thecompanysergeant. This horse won at Navan in March and was runner-up to Nick Rockett at Fairyhouse when last seen. He could be well treated on handicap bow.

3.05 Galway

Aidan O’Brien’s Navy Seal might take some stopping but his son Joseph’s Bad Desire is the one I like. €165,000 yearling, by Wootton Bassett, is an expensive purchase and might be well up to taking a weak enough maiden first time out.

3.40 Galway

Katola is a well bred Awtaad filly and she makes plenty of appeal on paper in a weak contest for a yard with an excellent record at this meeting. She has a decent draw and should be up with the pace throughout under Chris Hayes.

4.15 Galway

Aidan O’Brien’s Portland was an eyecatcher on debut at the Curragh and although he disappointed in fourth at Tipperary, he will take a big step forward now pitched into a handicap for the first time in a winnable race.

4.50 Galway

Lady Arwen was a game winner at Limerick when last seen and clearly enjoys a stiff right handed track on that evidence. She is up 6lb but could still be ahead of the assessor.

5.25 Galway

Mon Coeur bumped into one at a big price when second of 19 here earlier in the week, 13 lengths clear of the third. A similar effort will see the horse go very close.

5.55 Galway

A chance is taken on Doyen Flyer in the bumper, who was sent off a warm order on debut at Downpatrick when fifth there for Willie Mullins. She might surprise a few here.
