As is often the case during the summer months, the ground at Bath is currently very fast. The current official going description is firm and that means you’ll be looking for horses with proven records on fast ground. We’ve picked out four such horses and combined them into a massive accumulator on Wednesday. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
More Than Likely (7-2, bet365) has only failed to finish in the first three once in six starts on firm ground. Nikki Evans’ mare returned to form in a big way when dead-heating for first over course and distance last time out. The ground was also firm that day and a repeat of that effort would surely put her right in the mix.
Ruby Cottage (11-1, bet365) loves firm ground and has won once and placed four times in five starts on it. It’s also worth noting that she has won or placed in nine out of her 12 starts at Bath. Malcolm Saunders’ charge does have a significant absence to overcome but the combination of the ground and track makes her a good proposition here.
Galactic Glow (3-1, bet365) has the perfect combination of an unblemished records on both firm ground and here at Bath. Both course and distance victories have come on firm ground, including a handicap win here last week. He also won a similar race last month and should prove hard to beat, with Taylor Fisher taking 5lb off.
Gearing’s Point (5-4, bet365) is yet to try firm ground but her excellent record on good to firm ground clearly indicates that it’s likely to suit. She’s yet to finish worse than third in three starts on good to firm and the probability of that form being translated to firm ground looks high. Sheena West’s five-year-old is in fine form and could complete a hat-trick here.
