Fontwell’s top jockey returns for just one ride with a huge chance on Monday 🔝

Harry Kimber is the top jockey at Fontwell so far this season with an impressive record. From just 11 rides at the Sussex track, six of them have won. This gives him a strike-rate of 55 per cent and backing his rides here has returned a nice profit. It could be significant that he makes the journey for their meeting on Monday to take just one ride. The market and the form book suggest his ride has a cracking chance. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.00 Fontwell

Tip Top Mountain (11-4, William Hill) is Kimber’s sole mount of the day and the horse is already a course and distance winner. You’ll have to forgive a pretty poor effort at Plumpton last time out. Robert Walford’s gelding was a well-beaten fourth at Plumpton when last seen which was a tame effort. Perhaps a little help from the handicapper was due after that run but he remains on the same mark.

If Tip Top Mountain was to return to the level of form he showed over course and distance two starts ago, we could see a very different result. On his first start for 269 days, he won in comfortable fashion by a margin of five lengths. The 6lb rise he received for that victory looked fair enough despite the form not working out as of yet.

Harry Kimber’s ride is still potentially unexposed over fences having had just eight starts over the larger obstacles. His record of three wins and two places is very solid and there could be more to come from this eight-year-old. There’s no doubt that Kimber will want his Fontwell hot-streak to continue.
