Emmet Mullins horse owned by JP McManus backed from 20/1 into 4/1 at Fairyhouse

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 2.10pm at Fairyhouse Racecourse today. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

2.10 Fairyhouse

It’s always interesting when one of Emmet Mullins or one of JP McManus is heavily backed but it’s even more interesting when they are both involved in the horse. That horse runs in the opening maiden hurdle over just shy of 2m4f, and the horse in question is McLaurey, who has been backed from 20/1 into 4/1 today, an 80 percent reduction in price.

McLaurey won his sole point start impressively at Lisronagh in November when trained by Jonathan Fogarty. He was subsequently picked up for €55,000 and the well bred Jukebox Jury gelding has a nice pedigree. His dam was an unraced half-sister to Princelet who went as far as 2m5f, and also to bumper winner Cockleshell Road who stayed as far as 2m6f.

It’s interesting that he wears a hood for his Rules debut, and the weight of money for him this morning would suggest that it’s possible McManus has had a flutter. As always, it’s important to treat this race with caution. We don’t know how the horse will perform and there isn’t much value left in the price. Make your own mind up.
