‘Don’t underestimate him’ – 392/1 horses for courses treble at York on Thursday

The Ebor Festival is one of the highlights of the summer and the competitive action on Day 2 gives us plenty to ponder. Course specialists often thrive here at York so with that in mind, we’ve selected three previous track winners that could have a significant advantage. It’s always hard to find winners at the big meetings but course form is a significant factor and it would be unwise to ignore it. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.25 York

Tadej (9/4, Betfred) carries a 7lb penalty as a consequence of his victory in a French Group 3 last time out. A close third in the Prix Robert Papin before that, he also wasn’t disgraced in the Coventry Stakes. He got the better of useful yardstick Do Or Do Not in a Class 3 novice over course and distance in May and there are plenty of reasons to be confident here.

3.00 York

Blue For You (10/1, Betfred) isn’t the most consistent performers but don’t underestimate him, especially here at York. Three of his five career wins have come here and trainer David O’Meara is often on the hunt for big handicap wins at this meeting. The handicapper is beginning to relent and he’s well treated on the form of his course and distance win in July 2024.

4.45 York

Ballistic Missile (10/1, Betfred) overcame a slow start to get his career off to the perfect start here in May. Richard Hannon’s colt struggled in the Coventry Stakes next time but produced a much improved display to finish second on handicap debut at Newmarket. There should be more to come and his previous course experience will stand him in good stead.
