The Cheltenham Festival continues on Wednesday and the quality racing keeps coming. We’re sure to get some very competitive racing and that means there will be plenty of each-way opportunities. We’ve picked out three horses at massive prices that may have been overlooked in the market. These include a mammoth 50-1 shot that could outrun its price on Day 2. Check out our free tips page for daily content across the entire Cheltenham Festival.
Shanbally Kid (25/1, bet365) has only had four starts over hurdles to date and the best could well be yet to come. Willie Mullins’ gelding beat the useful Monty’s Star in a maiden hurdle last term and he didn’t stay over three miles in the Albert Bartlett here. It was a fair run behind Maxxum at Leopardstown last time out, despite not getting home, and the drop back in trip is a huge plus.
The Folkes Tiara (33/1, William Hill) is still relatively lightly raced over fences and he put in a career best performance when winning at Leopardstown over Christmas. He’s got more ability than he showed at the Dublin Racing Festival last time out and his British mark of 133 looks workable. Henry de Bromhead’s eight-year-old travelled particularly well when winning his penultimate start and you certainly want a strong traveller for a race such as this.
Bill Joyce (50/1, William Hill) probably wouldn’t be this price if he was handled by a more fashionable trainer. Jonjo O’Neill isn’t usually a name you would associate with bumper winners but this horse is two-from-two so far under rules and it would be no surprise if the form of his last win works out well. He easily beat Envoi Allen’s brother at Exeter and that rival had won its previous start. Clearly possessing a fair engine, he can certainly outrun his odds.
