Plumpton has been a happy hunting ground for Charlie Longsdon so far this season, as both of his runners there have managed to come out on top. His 100 per cent record is set to be put to the test with one runner there on Monday so we’ve taken a detailed look at it’s chances. We’ve also offered up our Nap of the day for you to consider. Sign Again was a winner of his sole start in an Irish point at Ballysteen in April, although it should be noted that both fallers at the second last had every chance before their races ended prematurely. Subsequently purchased for £60,000, he made his rules debut in a bumper at Bangor last month.
The Longsdon yard has been struggling somewhat in the last fortnight but it sometimes only takes one winner to flip that on its head. This four-year-old will need to improve significantly on his fourth of six at Bangor when last seen, but being a three-mile point winner, it’s easy to excuse that effort.
He’s entitled to improve for the run here and much better is expected now going hurdling. Another thing that’s in his favour is the longer trip, as this extended 2m4f should be much more to his liking.
Wonder Legend remains lightly raced four a four-year-old and he got outpaced before keeping on to finish third over 1m4f at Southwell in October. He shaped as if the step up in trip will suit and should run another big race off the same mark here.
