Charlie Deutsch has had an excellent campaign, having ridden plenty of big Saturday winners. Most of those have been for regular boss Venetia Williams but he also managed to land a big one for Sam Thomas at the weekend.
He’s operating at a strike-rate of 50 per cent at Leicester so far this season, with four winners from his eight rides, and could better that at the East Midlands track on Tuesday. Deutsch is set to take one ride so we’ve taken a detailed look at the horse’s chances below. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Lady Pretender remains a maiden after 13 starts over hurdles and fences but her second here back in December suggests she’s capable of winning races. Jumping slightly to her left that day, she made most of the running and just got a little outsprinted on the run-in and was beaten by two lengths.
That effort came in a 0-110 Class 4 and this is a 0-100 Class 5, which should make things slightly easier in theory. It’s worth noting that she was pretty disappointing over 2m2f at Taunton last time out and the six-year-old will need to bounce back in order to come out on top here.
She ran some nice races in her native France, despite failing to win, and was a head away from getting off the mark in a chase at Orleans for previous connections. Venetia Williams’ horses almost always improve over fences and you can’t help but feel the best is yet to come.
Facing four rivals here, Overabottleofred and Shesupincourt appear to be the main dangers, whilst Tilly Toughnut and Nancy Till have a bit to find on recent form.
