It’s a hugely competitive day of racing on Saturday, as we have Ascot Champions Day to really look forward to. We’ll have horse racing tips on the website, including a NAP of the Day. Ascot is a notoriously tough venue to get home in when the ground is heavy and looking at the weather forecast this week, it is likely to be heavy. You need a horse proven in the conditions to be successful and we’ve found three horses who fit that profile. The details can be found below.
The one here has to be Kyprios, who is likely to go off a warm order for the race. The brilliant son of Galileo came back from a 344 day break to finish second in the Irish St Leger. Aidan O’Brien was delighted with the run and rightly so. He can now improve a bucket load from that and he is two from two on heavy.
French raider Horizon Dore might hold all the aces in the big race of the day. A winner on debut on heavy ground, this lad won’t mind tough conditions and he arrives to Ascot in top order, winning his last four races on the bounce. This is a big step up in class again, but he can take it in his stride.
Aidan O’Brien could have a very good day on Saturday and the superstar Paddington could be another Group 1 winner for the yard. This boy is two wins from two on heavy ground and although he has had a long busy season, he had excuses last time when the winner got first run on a very fast surface.
