Alice Haynes was successful with a Scottish raid at Hamilton earlier this week, claiming a 5-2 winner on Thursday. She goes up to Scotland on Monday, this time to Musselburgh, where she is set to have two runners. Despite drawing a blank from two runners at the track so far this season, she was two-from-two there in 2022, giving her an excellent 50 per cent record.
Her two runners bookend the card and may well be worth looking out for. We’ve combined them into a 59-1 Monday double. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Lexington Belle (3-1, bet365) was very fresh and keen on debut over 6f at Lingfield last time out. That being said, she wasn’t beaten too far in sixth and significant improvement could be on the cards. She is related to several winners and looks capable of winning a modest maiden such as this on that evidence. Her pedigree also suggests that the step up in trip will be in her favour. Alice Haynes has a strike-rate of 31 per cent with her juvenile runners on turf so far this season and you wouldn’t want to rule out another here.
Regal Rambler (14-1, bet365) has been a tad disappointing in two handicaps starts so far. Both those races were much more competitive affairs than this race. It’s fair to say that this looks like his best opportunity thus far. Sliding slowly down the weights, the return to a mile should suit and he is likely to be much more competitive this time around. An improved effort could well be on the cards.
