‘A low draw is vital’ – Charlie Sharp’s Goodwood Day 4 each-way Lucky 15

Goodwood Friday

Charlie Sharp has been amongst the winners at Goodwood this week and he returns with four more selections. It looks set to be another competitive day of action with plenty of each-way opportunities. The four tips in question form a fascinating each-way Lucky 15 and you can get involved by clicking on the betslip above. 1.50 Goodwood

Super Superjack finished second in this race last year and returns with 2lbs in hand. He was repeatedly short of room and would have won the race, if not for having trouble in running. Since moving to Olly Murphy’s yard, he has run twice over shorter trips (1m6f and 2m) and I think he’ll appreciate the step up to 2m4f today. He’s one of the few who will handle the quick conditions and I think redemption is on the cards.

3.00 Goodwood

A low draw over a mile is vital at Goodwood, as well as course form, with that being said, Classic stands out to me. He ran at Goodwood on the second start of his career when beaten a neck by The Foxes (who went onto win the Dante). I think after that performance, standards were set high for Classic and he’s not quite reached the level that connections expected. He’s been running on ground that doesn’t suit him this season and I fancy him to put in another big performance at Goodwood, as he did as a two-year-old.

3.35 Goodwood

Live In The Dream hasn’t been seen to his best effect this season, but his run in the Nunthorpe Stakes on good to firm ground last season sticks out to me and I can’t ignore it. On good to firm ground, the Adam West-trained gelding has a record of 1137 with the seventh coming as a two-year-old after being bumped in running. Jason Hart has knocked Sean Kirrane off the seat and I think they’ll be playing ‘catch me if you can’.

4.10 Goodwood

Sir Busker has had a long road back after having eye surgery in March 2023 and connections weren’t sure if he’d return to racing. The first three runs can be written off as they were testers to see if he still enjoyed it. He then put in some good performances and has been unraced since March. His first-time-out record is reasonable and I believe there’s one more big win to come in his career.
