Matt first went racing in February 1982 at just 3 months old. Attracted to the sport by Desert Orchid in the late 80's, a media degree started a path to horse racing journalism. Owner of many horses and greyhounds through the years, the latter has led to the formation of the myracing greyhound syndicate, a Greyhound Writers Association membership as well as appearances on Racing Post Greyhound TV.
Another Saturday night runner for the myracing syndicate at Crayford today as Meenagh Mourinho looks to add another A2 to his record. It’s a busy night of action all over the country for our greyhound tips tonight, with plenty of action to get stuck into.

Feora Neptune – Ex A5 Harlow hound has shown plenty of promise grading in here but without showing bundles of early pace. Under race conditions, this is going to make his task much harder, but still a pup, he has time to work on that.
Monagea Sam – Did the best of the three of these who were behind Ballymac Quality last time out, though he avoided the worst of the trouble at the first bend. That took his record at this level to 0/7 so he is some way down the pecking order here.
Madame Moo Moo – The first of three Kelva representatives in the contest, she is a recent A3 winner showing her usual gritty resolution. That is as high as she has won at but she does have a tidy draw with little early pace inside if she can come away in her best fashion.
Millbrook Queen – Four and a half years old now, connections will be happy to see her slide down into an A2 having contested better races of late. She is 3/5 when running at this level but her early pace has gone missing a little recently. Big player if she finds her trapping boots.
Slaney Topgear – Got in trouble last week after a tardy break, better judged on his wide margin A3 win the time before. He is only 1/11 at this level but he boasts a nice mix of all-round pace and stamina as well as a number of 23.50’s. A big danger to all if turning unscathed.
Meenagh Mourinho – Has not been at his electric best in recent outings, though he still has a win at this level to his credit as recently as the 18th of May. There’s not bundles of early across this line-up, if he can produce one of his many sub 3.50 sectionals, he’s going to turn 2 clear, but that’s a big ‘if’ on recent showings.
Conclusion
Not masses of early for an A2 here so Jose could well lead these up with the luxury of a decent break. 3.54 is the best sectional he has produced in his last eight starts though, a long way removed from his 3.43 best, with twelve of his first twenty-two sectionals 3.54 or faster. The 4 is always a big player at this level, boasting a fine 3/5 record, she looks the one to beat, while 3 may outrun her price with not much in the way of early for her to clear inside.
