9.16pm Crayford Race Preview 17/07/2018

A long gap between runners for the myracing.com greyhound syndicate, waiting for Jose to take his chance in the A1 that closes out the SIS coverage from the track on Tuesday. Crayford will join Sheffield on our greyhound tips tonight as we attempt to back up the Acca winner from Monday night.

9.16pm Crayford 17/07/2018 A1 Grade

Special Story – Not quite coming away in her very best fashion in her last couple of starts. She beat Brinkleys Poet here back in June so we know that she is more than capable at this level if she times her break right.

Late Hyena – As mentioned last week, a number of Jose’s owners have a share in this girl as well. She was unable to clear Special Story on that occasion so she’ll need to be on her toes at trap rise. She has plenty of early boot in the locker and is the one to beat if coming away.

Wicky Mary – 4/7 in the lower grades here but her 0/5 record at this level tells the bigger story. She is unquestionably a smart bitch when things drop right, but early 3.60 sectionals make things hard for her when she’s flying this high.

Billis Tyson – Took until the ninth time of asking to get off the mark at this level, only having to produce a 23.80 to do so in June. Has kept warm company since in opens but this is a strong A1 contest so he needs to bring his 23.30 best to the party to compete.

Meenagh Mourinho – Although there is no trap 6 tonight which leaves Jose on the outside of the field, it’s still not quite the same as being in stripes himself. Caused a 14/1 shock in this grade last week but will need plenty to go right behind him again to repeat the dose.

Conclusion

Jose took his chance well in this grade last week, when others missed the kick, he hammered home his early advantage. Orange is not the new black (and white stripes) so with a record of just 2/14 drawn here as opposed to 8/21 when in 6, he needs to be right at the top of his game once more. Any trouble on the inside between 1 and 2 will help his cause, though if either of them smash out with a clear run, they will take all the beating.
