Jose will be our last runner before Christmas at Crayford tonight as we come to the end of a very successful 2017. Our greyhound tips will be on the site before 6.00pm tonight. We also have Droopys Hyde running in the 8.33pm at Henlow, no prices are available but we wish him a safe return and hope he can add to his record there. Let’s break down the task facing Jose tonight.
Stonebreaker – Winner of an A4 and A3 back to back in mid November, he has struggled badly in three runs at this level. He doesn’t have the early pace to make an instant impact so is best left alone until receiving an ease in grade.
Reagrove Aero – Showing some smart early pace to clock up a hat-trick from the front. This is as high up the grades as she has ever been and although she has no early inside, she tends to move middle from here and with the 3 showing early pace, that wont be easy.
Millbrook Queen – Plenty of early boot, winning an A3 last time. She has an A2 win to her credit but that was way back in April 2016. She will need to trap clever to avoid an early bump from the 2 but has the pace to get involved.
Sherry Classic – Another bitch with bundles of early pace, she is a regular under 3.55. This trip of 380 is as far as she wants to go so she may find others stronger in the finish, especially with plenty of trapping speed inside her.
Meenagh Mourinho – Missed the kick badly last week on his first look back from Nottingham, he can’t afford to do that again tonight. He has a lot of early pace on his left to clear but he does have a size advantage over them to use if things become tight at the bend.
Kerstin Boy – A recent addition to the graded strength, he didn’t make his debut until mid October. He has climbed the grades steadily, a very impressive winner in A3 last time. He’s going to need more again if he is to clear these but is the least exposed in the contest.
This is going to be a burnup to the first bend with smart early pace across the field bar the 1. Jose is the biggest in the field which should at least help him ride a bump at the bend, with the 6 open to the most improvement in the race. With so many similar sectionals on offer, it is very much a case that the first bend will determine the winner.
