8.02pm Henlow Race Preview 07/12/2017

It’s been a long road with Droopys Hyde already, knocked over twice at Crayford, the track just didn’t suit him. Moved to Henlow he got his head in front for the first time in his career when he won an A9 last week. His entry coming so late in the day that we didn’t have time to produce a preview for him. Our greyhound tips from Hove will be on the site by 6.00pm tonight, before then let’s see how Hyde is going to get on tonight live on RPGTV.

8.02pm Henlow 07/12/2017 A8 Grade

Swift Ginger – Just four races in her career so far, she looks the perfect dog to have on Hyde’s inner given she is a slow starter. She looks a stayer in the making and would be a danger if turning close based on her 28.30 A9 win last month.

Droopys Hyde – Off the mark with a debut win last week in an A9. That race went perfectly for him, just a 4 runner affair, he led up, turned in front and never saw another rival. A proper field of 6 tonight up in grade will tell us more but he couldn’t be better drawn.

Savana Sarah – A danger to Hyde on the run to the bend with plenty of early pace, but she tends to move a little middle which should give him some space. A regular in the 28.30’s, her being on Hyde’s outside at the bend will be an acid test for him.

Blackrose Angel – Didn’t get her head in front in five starts at Swindon, she makes her Henlow debut tonight. She has trialled in respectably but this is a solid race for the grade so she may need a helping hand from the grader.

Swift Claudine – Twice in the 28.30’s in her last five races, she has a nice turn of early pace at this level. She doesn’t quite get home over this 460m trip, but with her early pace she looks capable of turning front rank.

Esker Furi – Very inconsistent trapper, he is a dual winner in this grade. The best of his breaks in the mid 3.70’s would see him turn in front, but he is hard to trust to do that. Needs to lead to win.

Conclusion

Hyde lost his confidence at Crayford so it was great to see him get his head in front last week. That was only a 4 runner affair and having won a 3 dog trial at Crayford, it shouldn’t be taken as rock solid proof that he has turned the corner just yet. That said, it can’t be taken away from him and drawn with a slow starter inside and a middle mover outside, he has the chance to back up that win in a better field. The 3 looks the one to beat on the clock with the 5 another who has the ability to win this if she leads up the 6.
