70-1 Double: Fast-ground horses to follow at Ffos Las on Tuesday

With the sun blazing down for the last couple of weeks, fast ground looks almost guaranteed at Ffos Las on Tuesday afternoon. That narrows down the options when looking through the card for runners who will relish their hooves rattling. A study of the card has found two runners who tick all the ground boxes and together form a 70-1 double. The double can be backed with William Hill at the time of publishing this article.

Just the five runners are set to go to post for this competitive little handicap but the George Scott horse ticks a lot of the boxes. Strong Power drops down in grade after a respectable effort at Windsor last time and the step back up to 6f will also be a major plus. The visor goes back on and the galloping nature of this track should bring out the best in him. He won on good to firm at Lingfield in the past so will have no issue with the ground and everything looks set for a huge run.

The John O’Shea-trained Knight Crusader has found life tough on his last couple of outings but his form on fast ground gives us hope that he will bounce right back to his best here. His best run of the year came on ground with good in the description when he was third at Newbury in May from 4lb higher. Now back on a fast surface where his form figures read 2nd, 1st and 6th from three runs on good to firm, it would be no shock to see a much improved performance.
