687-mile round trip: Willie Mullins’ first ever runner at Exeter on Sunday

Red-hot trainer Willie Mullins will send his first ever runner down to Exeter Racecourse in the south-west of England on Sunday, and that surely could be a tip in itself as it’s a fairly awkward spot to get to. In total, the return journey is 687 miles and he isn’t going there to make up the numbers! Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips on the website!

3.05 Exeter

Running in the extended 2m Listed novices’ hurdle, Fun Fun Fun will take her chance in the race for Mullins. Owned by Souede and Munir, retained rider Daryl Jacob will take the ride on the mare, who was a disappointing second when sent off a 2-5 favourite for a Listed contest at Thurles in December.

Fun Fun Fun won her bumper at Sligo in style on debut in October 2022, before going on to bolt up in a Grade 2 mares’ bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown also last season. She disappointed in the top Cheltenham and Punchestown bumpers subsequently, but she created a good impression when bolting up on hurdling debut at Thurles and must have a chance in this.

This is Mullins’ first ever runner at Exeter, and it also has to be worth pointing out Gavin Cromwell also has a runner on the card in the Listed mares’ chase later in the day, although he has been to Exeter with a runner in the past. Both Irish runners have strong chances by the look of it. Best of luck if you have a wager, and always remember to bet responsibly and spend what you can afford to lose.
