As many of you will know by now, we work closely with Gold Cup and Grand National winning trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies here on a weekly basis (daily for the big meetings).
Each week (on a Friday, or the day before the big meetings) he goes through his prospects and their chances in every race exclusively for myracing.
As part of the arrangement we ask Nigel for a Charity bet of £25 to win (or £12.50 Each Way) with all proceeds going to The Injured Jockeys Fund, and we thought that you might like to know how that is going so far?
To date we have had the following bets……
5/3/16 Little Jon (7/1 taken) Pulled Up 15/2 – No return
12/3/16 Flying Angel (16/1 Each Way taken) – WON 9/1 – £243.75 back!
15/3/16 The New One (6/1 taken) – Fourth 7/2 – No Return
16/3/16 Ballyandy (13/2 taken) – WON 5/1 – £187,50 back!
17/3/16 Bristol De Mai (9/2 taken) – Second 4/1 – No Return
18/3/16 Flying Angel 16/1 taken – Second 8/1 – No Return
19/3/16 Cogry (10/1 Each Way taken) – THIRD 6/1 – £43.75 back!
26/3/16 Tour Des Champs (11/2 taken) – WON 11/2 – £162.50 back!
2/4/16 Tour Des Champs (4/1 taken) – Fourth 3/1 – No Return
Total returns so far – £637.50 all to the Injured Jockeys Fund (see picture).
Each week Nigel invariably forgets to nominate his charity bet so we have to call him back and nag him (to be fair, he is a very busy man and more than happy to help!), but the evidence shows the extra effort is all worthwhile
How It Works.
If you want to find out how Nigel’s horses are and maybe follow his charity bets (and why wouldn’t you with that sort of profit), all you need to do is go here each week the evening before racing (Friday for the weekend, the day before at the big meetings), and you can read our exclusive articles directly from Nigel Twiston-Davies himself.
Everybody wins (except the bookmakers) which has to be a good thing. Nigel gets to nominate his favourite horse of the day, we all get to know which horse it is in advance (and if you follow him you would be up to the same amount), and The Injured Jockeys’ Fund is a very worthy cause that are proud to support.
We at myracing get to give something back to the sport we love, helping those who put their lives on the line for our entertainment which is something we want to do, so long may the winners (and profits) continue for everyone’s benefit.
