41-1 Nicky Henderson Cheltenham acca the bookies would hate to come in 😱

Sandown - Nicky Henderson

Shishkin returned with a bang at Ascot on Saturday, winning the Grade 1 Ascot Chase by a wide margin. The return of that horse also indicates that Nicky Henderson is hitting form at the right time, with Cheltenham less than a month away. Henderson has always prioritised Cheltenham Festival winners above all else which makes this dangerous. Liam Bramall has picked out four of his horses that can win at Cheltenham and give the bookies a headache.

2.10 Tuesday (Arkle)

Jonbon (7-4, Boylesports) was ante post favourite for the Arkle for most of the season. El Fabiolo overtook him after winning the Irish Arkle comfortably at the Dublin Racing Festival. Unbeaten in three starts over fences, Jonbon wasn’t massively impressive at odds of 1-16 in a match when last seen. Cheltenham will be a different story however and he’ll be primed for that big target.

3.30 Tuesday (Champion Hurdle)

Constitution Hill (4-11, Betfair) looks like an absolute monster. Put in one of the most impressive Cheltenham performances I’ve ever seen when winning the Supreme last season. He’s looked nothing short of electric in two starts so far this season, winning Grade 1s at Newcastle and Kempton. It’s possible that we could have an all-time great on our hands and he should win this Champion Hurdle convincingly.

4.10 Tuesday (Mares’ Hurdle)

Marie’s Rock (4-1, Betfair) is the defending champion in the Grade 1 Mares’ Hurdle. She has gone from strength to strength since and looks better than ever this season. Having beaten the boys in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time out, Marie’s Rock is unlikely to let Honeysuckle have it all her own way in this race. This mare has a cracking chance of defending her crown.

2.50 Thursday (Ryanair Chase)

Shishkin (5-4, Betfair) roared back to form at Ascot on Saturday, putting in a performance that we all knew he was capable of. Going up in trip was obviously the right move and he looks like a worthy favourite for this race. With the absence of Allaho, he’s now been presented with a cracking opportunity here. Could turn into a Gold Cup contender for next season but looks set to win this first.
