Matt first went racing in February 1982 at just 3 months old. Attracted to the sport by Desert Orchid in the late 80's, a media degree started a path to horse racing journalism. Owner of many horses and greyhounds through the years, the latter has led to the formation of the myracing greyhound syndicate, a Greyhound Writers Association membership as well as appearances on Racing Post Greyhound TV.
Back to back races on Saturday afternoon for the myracing greyhound syndicate, Meenagh Mourinho coming up quickly on the heels of Nuka from the same striped jacket. Crayford and Sheffield will be the tracks of choice tonight, featuring on our greyhound tips tonight for RPGTV.
12.36pm Crayford 28/04/2018 A3 Grade
Noahs Bark – Very impressive winner in an A4 at the start of February, clocking a slick 23.46. That stands out like a sore thumb, more than three lengths above anything else he has done. Lacks early pace but picks things up from halfway, well capable over further.
Organised Chaos – In a similar mould to the 1, he is a slow starting strong runner at this trip. He is another who has come up from A4, picking up a win in that grade in March. 23.66 was his effort there, a repeat of that would see him in the mix.
Glenside Dave – 1/5 in this grade, winning at the first attempt in 23.93. He has struggled since, sent off at a double figured price twice in his last three starts. Has the early to lead up the inside pair which should at least give him a shout.
Montore Greener – Solid early pace, she picked up a 23.60 win at this level earlier this month. The loss of stripes to her is not as big a concern as it is for a lot of hounds, she will appreciate the step back down to this level.
Meenagh Mourinho – One of the swiftest out the traps at the track, he already has 6 sub 3.50 sectionals to his credit. He will need to be right on his game at lid rise this morning with the 5 also quick to the bend. A 23.60 dog at his best, he won’t be far away with a clear run.
Conclusion
Jose failed to trap as well as he can last week, that costing him at the bend. If he can come away in his best fashion, there isn’t a rival in this contest who can live with him to the bend. There are a pair of strong runners on the inside so either of them turning clean behind him would be a worry, but he looks to have a solid opportunity.
