A downgrade to A3 to start 2018 for Jose, although a draw in 5 is the graders way of making sure he doesn’t have too much in his favour. Our greyhound tips will be up by 6.00pm tonight for the card at Romford. Before then, we break down Jose’s task runner by runner for his Friday morning assignment.
Droopys Jimena – Progressive in the autumn, she looked in need of her return to action last time when in front of Jose. She has a decent turn of early and stays further so will be a danger to all with the cobwebs blown away if she turns handy.
Our Crystal Lad – Ex top grade Central Park dog has been progressing with his racing here. He shapes as if he will be better suited to the 6 bend test rather than this 380m trip, but he has shown plenty of early boot, looking set to score in this grade sooner rather than later.
Matts Miami – Nine of the thirty MRT Syndicate members have a share in this lad so there is plenty of Kelva rivalry. He is yet to hit the lids but paces up in open class fashion when he gets into stride. A pair of quick starters inside him, he’ll have to look smart to avoid early trouble.
Pass Remarkable – Has a quick break in his locker but he doesn’t bring it to the table with any regularity. Stays this trip well, but will need a bit of luck in running if he is to weave his way through a strong looking race for the grade.
Meenagh Mourinho – Missed the break badly the last twice, will need to get back his trapping boots in this line-up. More than capable having won in the grade above in November when pinging but will need that sort of break again here.
Culverden Jess – In flying form at present, landing A6, A5 and A4 on the bounce to get back to this grade. She has smart early pace, an A2 winner back in April, she is more than capable but she will have to be on her toes to clear Jose on the run to the bend.
Officially a downgrade for Jose but this is a tough looking A3 with a draw in 5 a bit of a negative in a race full of early pace, He won an A2 from orange in November but he has missed the kick a fair way the last twice, he is going to have to be spot on at lid rise here. Both the 1 and 2 are quick starting strong stayers so if either of them turn in front, they will take some catching. Matts Miami is well capable of winning this on the clock if he gets the bit of luck he needs to turn unscathed.
